Export Intercultural Facilitators
Background:
In the age of the global economy, Australia’s future economic growth and prosperity depend upon expanding off-shore markets.
The Australian Federal Government’s Department of Trade – Austrade – recommends that Australian businesses utilize the cultural understanding of transnationals to enhance access to their potential export markets.
Primary objectives:
OldroydDirect is seeking Export Intercultural Facilitators for positions within Australian businesses to facilitate Australia’s export sales and marketing.
Duties and responsibilities:
Typically, successful applicants will be working within the International Divisions of Sales and Marketing reporting as assistant to the Export Sales Manager and liaising with sales personnel, shipping and marketing, and as required with Senior Management.
You will act as the first point of contact for all staff within the Export Department with regard to cultural information pertaining to the export market as well as language expertise – translating and interpreting as required.
You will be required to liaise regularly and closely with colleagues including providing cultural insight, support and facilitation in both export marketing and sales promotion related to:
- product design, packaging, labeling, the marketing mix, fact finding surveys, overseas market demographics, market attitudes, values and religious sensitivities
- explanation of product benefits, building client relationships, product adaptation to regional characteristics and idiosyncrasies, facilitating negotiation, final delivery and response to emerging situations.
Essential requirements:
The prerequisites are that you must be:
- Native to an Australian export market - actual or potential.
- Proficient in English.
- Qualified by an Australian University.
- Business focused and/or technically oriented.
- Highly motivated.
- Willing to adapt to the Australian workplace and contribute to and participate in the development of Australian business.
- Enthusiastic about export.
- Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic changing work environment and able to work coincidentally on a range of different tasks as the need arises.
- Able to work positively and constructively in teams as well as independently with minimum supervision.
- Eligible for or have obtained residency.
- Willing to travel and work accross time zones if and when required.
Desirable attributes:
The successful applicants will be personable, proactive, good communicators, able to interact at all management levels.

Salary Package
Remuneration is negotiable and generally commensurate with middle management assistants.
